Happy New Year to you! I always enjoy ringing in the new year. Not because we do anything special, but because we don’t. We don’t go out and party on New Year’s Eve, we don’t stay up until midnight and we don’t have a hangover the next morning. The end of a year is a chance to reflect. A time to review the last 12 months – the highs, as well as the lows. And more importantly, it is a chance to take some quiet time to consider the future.
For me, the very best thing about a new year is an opportunity for fresh starts. It is a mark on the calendar that reminds us to stop and think about our lives and how we want to move forward. It is a time to decide what we want to carry over into the new year and what we want to dust off of our feet and leave behind in 2024. And while we had some wonderful times in 2024, we also had several things that I am happy to leave behind. So, bring on the new year! May your year ahead be full of precious moments and wonderful adventures.

You too❣️
Hi Janie –
Thank you! Let’s make 2025 a great year to remember!
Happy New Year. The year review happens in Dec when the annual Christmas missive is written. It’s not a newsletter but usually a concise one-paragraph synopsis. I still use a day timer for appts & birthdays, etc. another opportunity to look at the year ahead. I often think about Y2K & marvel that it was 25 years ago! It’s a reminder of how fast time goes by, seemingly more so now that I’m in my 7th decade. Like you, there are things that happened in 2024 that I’m happy to leave behind but continue to look forward & welcome the future.
Hi Mona –
I am hearing of quite a few retired people that are using paper day timers to track appointments and then to keep as a memory of the year. I used to do that with our wall calendar when we were raising a family and going in ten different directions at once. I kept several of them as a reminder of those wonderful, busy, crazy years. Now I use my phone calendar because it is easy to carry, and I usually have it with me. Efficient, but not as delightful. Happy new year to you!
